Change the screen resolution
  1. Move the pointer to an unoccupied place on your desktop screen.
  2. Click your right mouse button.
  3. Select the “Properties” option from the displayed menu.
  4. Click on the “Settings” tab.
  5. The “Display Properties” dialog box has a “Screen area” where you can move the slider to the left to lower your resolution to 640x480.
  6. Click on “Apply” in the lower right of the “Display Properties” window.
  7. Within the “Monitor Settings” popup window, confirm the selection with “OK.”
  8. Select “Yes” to confirm the change.
Increase the font size
  1. Move the pointer to an unoccupied place on your desktop screen.
  2. Click your right mouse button.
  3. Select the “Properties” option from the displayed menu.
  4. Click on the “Settings” tab.
  5. Select the “Advanced” button in the lower right corner.
  6. Under the “General” folder tab is a pull-down menu labeled “Font Size.” Select the arrow-down in the pull-down menu.
  7. Change your settings to “Large Fonts.”
  8. Acknowledge the reboot notification by clicking “OK.”
  9. Close the “Advanced” window by selecting “OK.”
  10. Close the “Display Properties” window by selecting “OK.”
  11. Reboot your system.
Select high contrast color combination
  1. Move the pointer to an unoccupied place on your desktop screen.
  2. Click your right mouse button.
  3. Select the “Properties” option from the displayed menu.
  4. Click on the “Appearance” tab.
  5. In the lower half, you'll find a pull-down menu, labeled “Scheme.” Select the arrow-down button in the pull-down menu.
  6. Choose the first option, labeled “High Contrast White (extra large).” (THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS WITH HIGH CONTRAST AND EXTRA LARGE FONTS.)
  7. Click on the “Apply” button and confirm the change if needed.
  8. Select the “OK” button in the “Display Properties” dialog window to complete your change.
Increase the size of desktop icons
  1. Move the pointer to an unoccupied place on your screen desktop.
  2. Click your right mouse button.
  3. Select the “Properties” option from the displayed menu.
  4. Click on the “Effects” tab.
  5. In the lower half of the “Properties” window called “Visual effect” check the checkbox for “Use large icons.”
  6. Close out the “Display Properties” window by selecting “OK.”
Increase the pointer size for the mouse movement
  1. Click on the “Start” button in the lower left-hand corner of your desktop screen.
  2. Select the “Settings” option from the menu.
  3. Choose “Control Panel.”
  4. Once the Control Panel has opened, select “Mouse.”
  5. In the “Mouse Properties” window click on the “Pointers” tab.
  6. In the upper half of the dialog window you will find a pull-down menu labeled “Scheme.” Use the arrow-down button to see the available options.
  7. We recommend that you select an option like “Windows Black (extra large).”
  8. Select the “OK” button at the bottom of the “Mouse Properties” dialog window to complete your change.
