Other Helpful Tools

Many devices exist that can help those with low vision see better. Some are designed for up-close reading, like your newspaper, while others help with distant objects like street signs.

Optical aids for computers are typically specific tools for specific uses. One device may be used for reading mail, while another aids the use of software, and yet another is designed for browsing the Internet. Low vision aids do not replace vision that has already been lost, but they can help maximize remaining vision.
